Event Horizon unveiled as part of Existence: Life and Beyond

Over 25,000 balloons in Jason Hackenwerth’s biggest ever sculpture unveiled at the National Museum of Scotland as part of Edinburgh International Science Festival. 

One of the main highlights of the 2018 Edinburgh International Science Festival, powered by EDF Energy, is Event Horizon, a colossal new balloon sculpture from celebrated American artist Jason Hackenwerth which was unveiled today, Friday 6 April, at the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh. Event Horizon is Jason’s largest ever artwork featuring over 25,000 balloons and was created by a team of 13 people working for approximately 50 hours each over a total of 6 days. Event Horizon is now available to view until 22 April.
