Scottish Events Awards 2014!

Now in its 6th year, the Scottish Event Awards celebrated the very best that Scotland has to offer across the broad spectrum of event management and services, at the Marriot Glasgow on Wednesday 8th October. As the only annual award scheme representing Scotland's event industry, the prestigious evening offers a unique and exclusive platform on which to showcase the high quality of your services.

Your Event Scotland returned as proud sponsors for this year’s Scottish Events Awards celebrating a fantastic year for events. The night was attended by around 350 event organisers, suppliers and venues that descended upon the city to pay homage to this much loved and growing industry.

It was a brilliant evening that followed the YES team’s 'fun and friendly' motto with this years Scottish themed ceremony!

Guests were invited to dress in traditional Scottish attire and were welcomed in by a Scottish piper.

During dinner the audience enjoyed the workings of the kilted caricaturist who went round tables drawing guests. Carrying on the Scottish theme guests were entertained by Billy Connolly impersonator Garry Moir as the Big Yin Revisited.

Candy Creations also provided a Scottish themed sweetie bar including classics such as tablet, Irn Bru sweets and Tunnocks tea cakes. A photo booth by Look Look was also present along with an indoor putting green from Team Challengefor guests to enjoy.

Clyde 1’s Knoxy was our host, entertaining the crowd whilst reading out the results and providing plenty of laughs. The evening was rounded off by Ceildh band Kilter who played traditional Scottish music and ended the evening with a DJ.

An abundance of awards were presented this year including The Enchanted Forest winning Best Cultural Event Award & Best Marketing Strategy, BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Glasgow was awarded Best Large Event and a final special recognition award was presented to the Glasgow 2014 organisers of the Commonwealth Games for their excellent work this summer.

This year will be tough to beat!
